Find Time to Visit
When a senior loses a partner, there is a great sense of loss and many want to give up and quit. Often families are too busy to spend quality time with mom or dad. Doctor’s look for signs of depression and despair.
Seniors most stay active, busy, involved and made to feel they still have value. They need to know that they are still a vital part of your life and your family. Make sure they know you think that understand that they have much to contribute. We can all help by making our loved ones feel special by spending time to take them out, see things, have a good meal and get try to involve them in new experiences to keep their hearts and mind alive.
Encourage involvement in clubs, church activities and other venues that keep them in groups where they can meet new friends and have fun.
